Bio
I am an agroecologist and faculty at UC Berkeley in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management. My lab works on how diversified farming systems affect climate resilience, the soil processes that in part underpin that resilience, and the socio-economic factors that constrain or enable diversifying farming systems. I will be working on the team characterizing agroecological transitions, using both "wide" geospatial and "deep" qualitative approaches. One project that neatly complements COAR is working with Prof Hannah Waterhouse on building a community of practice for cover cropping in the central coast and measuring cover cropping impacts on water consumption and protection of water quality.
