Bio
Star is an M.S. student in International Agricultural Development at UC Davis, where she works in Ryan Galt's lab. She received her B.S. from UC Berkeley, where she double majored in Society and Environment and Conservation and Resource Studies. Before enrolling at UC Davis, she worked in sustainable agriculture, environmental law, and organic land management.
Her research, conducted in collaboration with UC Cooperative Extension and local Resource Conservation Districts, focuses on understanding the barriers to and sources of support for small-scale growers practicing ecological management in California's central Sierra Nevada foothills.
