Bio

Andrea Thompson is the Associate Program Director of the Agricultural Sustainability Institute (ASI) at UC Davis. Her career has spanned the fields of project management, food communications, and food product development. Previously, she worked with UC Davis’ World Food Center; the Departments of Food Science & Technology, Viticulture & Enology and Biological & Agricultural Engineering; the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science. Before joining UC Davis, she was a television culinary producer, test kitchen manager for Williams-Sonoma’s corporate headquarters in San Francisco, and worked in new media at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. More recently, she was the food columnist for the Sacramento Business Journal, and the editor of Edible Sacramento magazine.
